Historic Calvary Baptist Church to Host Small Business Sunday on December 6
Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Ministry Invites Community to Shop Local, Support Entrepreneurs, and Strengthen the Local Economy
PATERSON, NJ — October 31, 2026 — The Historic Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Randall Moses Lassiter, Senior Pastor, is excited to announce Small Business Sunday, presented by the church’s Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Ministry. The event will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026, immediately following the morning worship service, at 575 East 18th Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
Under the theme “Shop Local. Support Small Business. Build Stronger Communities,” Small Business Sunday will bring together entrepreneurs, small business owners, church members, and community residents for a special opportunity to celebrate entrepreneurship, promote economic empowerment, and encourage community investment.
Supporting Small Businesses, Strengthening Our Community
Small businesses are the backbone of thriving communities. They create jobs, support families, stimulate local economies, and provide opportunities for individuals to turn their passions and talents into sustainable enterprises.
Recognizing the importance of entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic stability and generational wealth, the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Ministry is creating a space where small business owners can showcase their products and services, connect with potential customers, and expand their professional networks.
Small Business Sunday will provide attendees with opportunities to:
SHOP: Discover and purchase unique products and services from local entrepreneurs and small business owners.
CONNECT: Build meaningful relationships with business owners, fellow shoppers, and community members.
NETWORK: Exchange ideas, establish partnerships, and create opportunities for collaboration.
DISCOVER: Learn about emerging businesses and the talented entrepreneurs contributing to the economic vitality of our community.
Faith, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Empowerment
The Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Ministry recognizes that entrepreneurship is more than simply starting or operating a business. It is an opportunity to exercise faith, demonstrate stewardship, develop financial independence, and contribute to the well-being of others.
Inspired by the biblical example of Nehemiah, whose leadership brought people together to rebuild and strengthen their community, the ministry seeks to encourage entrepreneurship grounded in faith, purpose, service, and collective economic advancement.
Through initiatives such as Small Business Sunday, Historic Calvary Baptist Church continues its commitment to serving not only as a place of worship but also as a community institution that supports economic opportunity, strengthens families, and fosters meaningful connections.

An Invitation to the Community
Historic Calvary Baptist Church invites the entire community to join us for a day of shopping, fellowship, networking, and economic empowerment.
As the holiday shopping season approaches, Small Business Sunday offers a meaningful opportunity to purchase gifts, discover new businesses, and make a direct investment in the entrepreneurs and families who help strengthen our communities.
When we shop small, we make a big impact. When we support local businesses, we invest in the future of our community.
Join us on December 6 and be part of a movement to shop local, support small businesses, and build stronger communities—one purchase, one connection, and one entrepreneur at a time.
