Dr. Randall M. Lassiter, Pastor
Reverend Dr. Randall M. Lassiter is a native of Paterson, New Jersey. As the Senior Pastor of the historic Calvary Baptist Church, the oldest Black Baptist church in Paterson, Dr. Lassiter is known for his dynamic teaching style, which helps people apply the word of God to their everyday lives. His love for God and passion for helping others have been integral in transforming souls to disciples and disciples to ambassadors of God. His reputation for effectively communicating and motivating people of all ages is admired throughout Northern New Jersey.
Public Leadership and Involvement
After serving as the executive assistant to the president of Passaic County Community College in Paterson, New Jersey, he accepted his call to ministry by serving as a Spiritual Advisor for the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked as the City Councilman in the Township of Prospect Park and was Vice President of the Paterson Pastor’s Workshop. As a humble and dedicated servant of God, Dr. Lassiter has devoted his life to uplifting, inspiring, and motivating his community.
Outside of the church, Reverend Lassiter is dedicated to leading his community through mentoring and activism efforts. Dr. Lassiter served as the former college basketball coach at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and William Paterson University. As a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., he is also a committed mentor to a diverse group of high school and college students throughout New Jersey. Dr. Lassiter is also the founder of Future Scholars Learning Center and the B-Men Mentoring Program, one of the first male support programs for elementary school-aged boys in the Northern New Jersey area.
As a noted speaker, Dr. Lassiter has addressed thousands of people and spread the word of God on numerous platforms, including colleges, churches, and community groups. He has also been featured on local radio and cable programs, where his strategies and techniques in working with youth have been sought by media organizations including The Record, The Herald News, The Star-Ledger, and USA Today.
Writings
Dr. Lassiter is the renowned author of You Are Not Your Circumstances, a self-help book that encourages readers never to let the cares of this world cripple them or keep them from achieving their dreams and desires. His more recent book, Write the Vision, is an extensive workbook helping readers design their vision, develop life plans, track progress, and clearly articulate their dreams.

Dr. Lassiter is the recipient of the 2005 Ambassador of Peace Award, the 2006 Rev. Dr. Frank Napier Legacy Award, and the 2006 Spiritual Leader Award. He is married to his best friend, Krystal, with whom he shares two beautiful sons, Nigel and Joell.
